Discover Riverdale Homes For Sale

River shore view of bridge by Riverdale EdmontonProperty in Riverdale has undergone a lot of changes over the decades, yet the area has managed to keep its defining small community feel. As older pre-war buildings and industrial projects gave way to mid-century suburbia, and then on to modern developments, this scenic neighborhood has held on to its walkable, friendly atmosphere beneath the many tall and mature trees that line its streets.

Many of the newer infill properties have gone with Victorian-brick aesthetic, while detached and semi-detached constructions have implemented modern designs using eclectic textures and sleek lines. Now the area features a mix of modern and new-traditional dwellings.

Lots and layouts are typically long, with rear-access garages. Furnished basements are common, as are more spacious yards on older properties.

Riverdale's modern new-constructions come in detached, semi-detached, and duplex varieties. The larger of these extend from 2 to 3 storeys, with walk-in closets, integrated appliances, soaking tubs in luxuriously fitted bathrooms, and spacious open-concept living spaces. Some of these properties also allow roof-access, or come with balconies.

New-traditional styles have exteriors finished in composite clapboard siding with stone accents, wood frames, and a variety of Victorian to Colonial features. In this line, forward elevations can include dormer and bay windows, large porches, exterior shutters, and prominent cornice returns. Interiors are complete with wood floors, kitchen islands, and fireplaces.

A few mid to late-century homes can also be found for sale in Riverdale. These properties tend to display brick or stucco facades, and low-pitched roofs on top of single-storey structures.

Given the immense disireability of the area, homes for sale in Riverdale tend to be more expensive than elsewhere in Edmonton. However, there are still many affordable options here in the various half-duplexes and condos.
