Getting to Know...Wild Rose

Posted by Tom Shearer on Friday, June 1st, 2018 at 2:19pm

Today we’re looking at the family friendly neighbourhood of Wild Rose.

  • Named after Alberta's official flower, Wild Rose is bounded by 38th Avenue to the north, 17th Street to the east, and 34th Street to the west. The area was once used as farmland and the southern part of the neighbourhood was left in its natural state as part of the development plan. It’s a newer neighbourhood with over 80% of the residences built after 1990.

  • Wild Rose is a contemporary mix of housing types, predominantly single and semi-detached homes, apartment style condominiums, row housing, and apartments.  Amenities include excellent employment opportunities at South Edmonton Common and the nearby Edmonton Research Park. A junior high school is located within the neighbourhood.

  • With beautiful Mill Creek running along the neighbourhood's southern border, Wild Rose features numerous parks and open corridors, providing excellent access to the creek and outdoor recreational spaces for residents.

  • An affordable $395,000 is the average listing price, with over 90% of homes in the “owned” category. A healthy $111,000 Average Household Income aligns with the stat that over a third of the residents are below the age of forty.  Definitely an ideal area for young families.
